Help protect the ‘hood by attending this Thursday’s Bond Election Advisory Task Force Meeting (Thursday, Jan. 4, 4pm at City Hall) and telling them to include funding in the 2018 Bond Package to purchase strategic properties as they become available, such as Lions Municipal Golf Course and the State Supported Living Center.

During the Citizen Communications at the beginning of the meeting, it would really help to have members of the public give testimony (limited to 3 min) in support of the funding request from the Open Space Acquisition Working Group for at least $15 million as a parkland reserve fund to be used by the City to help acquire strategic tracts such as Muny, the State Hospital property, the State School property (now known as the State Supported Living Center), and more. And the most critical of these is MUNY.

For more details on the Working Group’s funding request, see page 2, paragraph III.B.4 of their report (http://www.austintexas.gov/edims/document.cfm?id=289444).
